Check out my husband's recent rant of March 15, 2006 and the subsequent fallout. I have to say that I am definitely on his side, but would even go further by saying the following:
Weapons are tools of ill omen
wielded by the ignorant
if their use is unavoidable
the wise act with restraint.
The only purpose of a weapon is death. The wise go forth with weapons only as a last resort. The spiritual price of war is devastating to both sides. War is the sacrifice of your ideals at the expense of your soul. It is a lose-lose situation. Because our leaders are not wise, restraint has not been used.

One could also argue that war IS the American ideal. After all, how many other countries have been involved in as many wars as we have in a mere 230 years?
