I absolutely love Christmas, much to the chagrin of O'Tim. I love decorating the house and setting up the tree. Usually I love to make cookies and sugared pecans, although this year maybe I won't do that. I love Christmas carols. I have tons of Christmas CDs that I try to wait til after Thanksgiving to play, but usually I start sooner than that. I love to shop. I love to buy things for other people. We are cutting way back this year on our gift giving because of baby stuff, so if you don't get a present from us, know that we love you, but just can't afford it this year.
Tim not so much with the Christmas. He misses his family and snow, although he has been there the past two Christmases. He doesn't like to decorate (too much work), doesn't neccessarily like to give gifts, nor does he really like to receive gifts. (What do you want for Christmas O'Tim? Tell them to give me a gift certificate he says). He eats the cookies I make but bitches the entire time. He hates to shop. I am sure that he is glad we are cutting back this year. Little does he know that the 'extra' goes all to baby. O'Tim hates Christmas music, especially before Thanksgiving. His only exception is the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. We both highly recommend it.
I love laying on the floor watching the Christmas lights. Of course this year is a no because if I get down there, it is going to take a lot to get me back up. I love watching the dogs open presents. I love to watch everybody open presents. I love presents for me. I just love Christmas.
Next year O'Tim and I both may like it even better, or perhaps less????

Next year you will love, love, love it. However, the best will still be to come. It really gets fun when your little one/ones are really into decorating the tree and house with you, helping you wrap your presents to other, and helping you bake the cookies. This is Carly's first year of really getting into it. It has been great watching her watch her sister and mimicking every little thing she does.
Bah. Humbug. I like getting together with friends. I do like gift exchanges because that is fun. I like doing the thing with my family because it is at my aunt Kim's house (the one at the party) and it is loud and fun. I like getting the 2 or 3 gifts I get and like giving the 2 or 3 I give. I absolutely hate Christmas music everywhere I go and want to bash people in the head who play that shit. I hate to shop so I don't do it. We spend about 150 on Christmas, tops. If that. I would hate to decorate my house. Rachel gave the husband a little metal snow man a few years ago. He loves it cause she gave it to him. I hate it, it hangs on a door knob year round and just looks too... cute. Shudder (sorry Rachel, but he likes it). I've gotta say, I'm pretty much with Tim. I get so sick of seeing grown women wearing clothing with little teddy bears sewn on them or ornaments and snowmen.
Make it be over. Soon.
I do however like clear lights and would like a reason to put them somewhere in my living room year round.
This is Dawnia by the way. For some reason, I can't log in to blogger to leave comments on anyones blog.
It's Dawnia? I'll be dog...
